The ICTeSSH 2023 conference plans to hold two 90 minutes pre/post-conference workshops or trainings and one post-conference workshop.
Pre/post–conference workshop
Pre/post–conference workshop should be small, focused meetings intended to provoke intellectual discussion, among a diverse range of participants, on a specific topic.
A workshop proposal should contain the following information:
- Title of the workshop
- Names and affiliations of the organizers
- Short description of the workshop including workshop objectives and workshop format
- Expected/maximal number of participants and if appropriate, depending on the workshop format, the expected number of submissions.
- Prior history of this workshop, if any, including the number of submissions, number of accepted papers, and attendee count
- Please provide details about your plans to advertise to SSH communities and how you intend to encourage participation at the workshop
Pre/post–conference training
Pre/post–conference training should be a 90 minutes class on the usage of some ICT tool, platform, service, or infrastructure. It is intended to improve the digital skills of participants.
A training proposal should contain the following information:
- Title of the training
- Names and affiliations of the organizers
- Short description of the training including expected learning outcomes
- Expected/maximal number of trainees and profile (necessary skills and knowledge) of trainees.
- Please provide details about your plans to advertise to SSH communities and how you intend to encourage participation at the training
- If you have any specific networking requirements, please state that in your proposal
Practical considerations
The workshop/training organizers should also take into account the following practical considerations:
-
High number of attendees is expected taking into account experience from the previous year (more than 100 attendees per workshop/training), meaning organization of a highly interactive workshop/training is quite complex
- Although it is not mandatory, any financial support by a workshop/training organizer is highly appreciated by the conference organizer (500 – 1,000 euros per workshop/training)
-
If appropriate, depending on a workshop format, individual workshop organizers will be responsible for setting up the paper submission site and review process
If you have any further questions about a workshop/training proposal, do not hesitate to contact the ICTeSSH 2021 organizer by email at ictessh@uns.ac.rs.
How to submit a proposal
Please submit your workshop/training proposal in a single PDF file by sending it to the ICTeSSH 2023 organizer by email at ictessh@uns.ac.rs with subject “ICTeSSH 2023 Workshop/Training Proposal: XXX” (where XXX is the acronym of your proposed workshop/training) by January 15th, 2023.
